SportsEngine Registration: Centennial Youth Hockey Association

2022-23 CYHA Registration

Welcome to the 2022-23 CYHA Online Player Registration

For ALL CYHA Families

MN Hockey rules state that a player must play hockey with the association either where they live or where they attend school.

Starting in 2019, the State of MN property tax site will be used to verify residence of all players home address and school district.  If the name listed on the property tax site does not match the player/parent in the registration – or the property tax info cannot be found, the family will be required to provide at least 2 of the following as proof of residence per MN Hockey Handbook, page 24.  If proof of residence is not provided when requested, then the player will not be allowed to participate in CYHA Hockey tryouts or be rostered on any CYHA team.

Valid forms of residence proof are:

  • Copy of Property Tax Statement
  • Copy of a Rental Lease agreement
  • Copy of a Current Drivers License
  • Copy of Current Utility Bill

NOTE for 19U Girls

CYHA will not have enough players to field a 19U team this year.  As a result, you do not have to complete the full registration for CYHA.   Instead, you only need to email your name and USA Hockey id to the CYHA registrar.   The Registrar contact info is at the bottom of the page.

You will complete the registration and payment for 19U with BYHA as was done last year.

Player Registration Information:

Online registration is NOW AVAILABLE for all levels.

  • Traveling Teams:  Online registration deadline is September 13, 2022.  A late fee of $50 per player will be assessed if received after this date. (Tryouts start September 19, 2022)
  • Mite Teams:  Online registration deadline is October 1, 2022.
  • Cougar Cub Teams:  Online registration deadline is October 22, 2022.
  • Junior Gold, JG16 and 19U registration Open House will be mid-November - more information to follow.
  • Registration open house will be held on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 at the Centennial Sports Arena and Thursday, September 15th, 2022 at the Centennial Sports Arena from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.  You MUST complete the online registration prior to attending one of the open house events.

Tryout Fees:

  • An additional $100 Non-Refundable Tryout Fee will be due at the time of registration for those skaters that register for AA Bantam, AA PeeWee or A Squirt, Girls 10UA, and Girls 12UA.   (Note:  Girls 15UA will NOT incur a separate tryout fee this year.)
  • An additional  $50 Non-Refundable Tryout Fee will be due at the time of registration for those skaters that register for Mite A and Girls 8UA.

Your player MUST be registered in USA Hockey using the name on their official government issued Birth Certificate or they cannot be rostered

* Documents to bring to the one of the two open house dates:

  • Volunteer contract with deposit check
  • Copy of the player's Official Government issued birth certificate (if not already on file)
    • If you are a returning open enrolled player and have secured a waiver from years past, you only need to turn in a copy of the proof of enrollment - if you didn't upload it at the time of registration.  It must show the players name, school name and school year
    • For newly open enrolled students, you must complete a School Waiver.  This is for anyone who intends to play for CYHA who attends an ISD12 (Centennial) school but lives outside of the ISD12 school district.

Additional detailed information can be found in the "2022-23 Registration Information" package found on the "Registration Forms and Documents" tab on this webpage.

The player registration session will allow you to sign consents, sign CYHA code of conduct, complete contact information and submit payment. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or checking account information available.

All player paperwork must be completed correctly and turned in prior to the deadlines or your player will not be allowed on the ice for tryouts.  PRIMARY REASON:  Any missing paperwork or errors in your players documentation violates the USA Hockey insurance.  In the event of an incident, USA Hockey Insurance coverage would be denied for not only your player or team, but also anyone else on the ice - including the opposing team.

Download the registration packet before you start - for reference.  It has answers to many questions you may encounter during your online registration.

First Step: USA Hockey Requirement

NOTE of things to be aware of before proceeding:

1. You MUST register your player with the legal name that is on their birth certificate unless you have court paperwork proving a name change.  IF YOU DO NOT - you will be asked to contact USA Hockey to fix the registration.  Much simpler to register properly the first time.

2.  All of the address information that is put on the roster is pulled directly from USA Hockey.  I cannot override it with the address you enter in NGIN.  If your player has multiple addresses - BE SURE TO REGISTER THEM WITH ONE THAT IS INSIDE OF ISD12 SCHOOL DISTRICT if possible, otherwise your player requires a participation waiver.

Redlining of players because of the above issues can be easily avoided if you pay attention to the above information.

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey (AS A PLAYER/COACH MEMBERSHIP) for the current season and then RETURN TO THIS REGISTRATION SESSION to signup with CYHA before you can be added to a roster.

  • Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey before continuing with the registration process. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.

You haven't finished until.........

When you have fully completed this registration and submitted it for payment, you will see a screen that states:  "SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE CYHA REGISTRATION!"  You will also be emailed a copy of your registration and payment receipt.

If you haven't seen both of these - then your player's registration has not been completed!
